Dental Hygiene Treatment

Our fully qualified and experienced Dental Hygienist is an expert in the treatment and management of gum disease and fulfils a very important role by supporting the dentist and periodontist in preventive dentistry and helping patients to maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Dental Hygiene treatments range from the care of children’s teeth and gums, to more complex periodontal (gum) treatments and the removal of plaque and calculus (the deposits that collect on the teeth) and staining, such as tea, red wine and tobacco. All treatments are carefully carried out without discomfort. Regular hygiene treatment will deliver healthy gums and a brighter smile!

As with all of our surgeries at Smiles Better the hygiene surgery is fitted with the very latest equipment. We have intra-oral cameras to demonstrate and explain problem areas to you.

The hygienist is qualified to ……

• Treat children – fissure sealants and oral health education
• Apply fluoride applications
• Administer local anaesthetic
