Denise started her dental career studying at The Royal London Hospital in 1989. She graduated Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours in 1993 and was offered one of the coveted House Surgical Posts at The Royal London Hospital, which she accepted.She moved to Norfolk in 2006 and has worked in Private practice as a Specialist Periodontist since. As one of a handful of Periodontists in East Anglia to be on the Specialist Register she has been certainly been kept busy Denise is happy to take self referrals or referrals from GDPs.
Dr Rebecca Patterson

Rebecca qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 1997 and moved to the area and joined the Smiles Better Dental team in May 2008. Rebecca likes to work in a relaxed environment to make patients feel welcome and put them at ease whilst striving to provide the highest quality of dental care. Rebecca is also now a registered Inman practitioner (private orthodontics) and provides this service at Smiles Better.
Dr Bruno Soares

Bruno qualified as a dentist in Portugal in 2006 and has been working in Norfolk since 2007. Bruno has a special interest in cosmetic treatments and orthodontics. He has completed a post graduation in orthodontics in 2009 and is also a certified Invisalign Provider (clear braces) since 2013 both in England and Portugal.Bruno regularly studies at post graduate course and seminars to keep up to date with all aspects of modern dentistry, helping his patients achieve a healthy, confident smile in a clam environment.
Ricardo Macedo

Ricardo qualified from the Faculty of Medicine at University of Coimbra, Portugal in 2013 having worked in a local private practice up until 2014. By that time, he decided to embrace a new challenge and move to the UK. For the last years, he completed his vocational training in Devon and has been working as a dentist in Bristol until September 2017, and Cambridgeshire thereafter.
Ricardo completed post-graduate study in minor oral surgery at Villa Clara University, Cuba and recently, he is completing his masters degree in Dental Implantology at the University of Bristol.
He has a gentle and kind manner which works very well for the very anxious patients and will endeavour to achieve smooth patient care. His main areas of interest are dental implants, cosmetic straightening and minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry.
Ricardo has a keen focus on dental education, which has led him to be involved with the International Team of Implantology (ITI). He finds that this continued education allows him to provide the highest standards of care as he stays attuned with the latest developments, techniques, technology and materials available in the market.
Apart from dentistry, Ricardo loves to spend time with friends and family. He is a very active person who enjoys exercising and tennis. His adventurous spirit led him to practice more radical sports such as skydiving and kitesurfing, which he is very passionate about.
Dr Daryl Green

Daryl qualified in 1983 from the Royal London Dental School in Whitechapel with a BDS degree. In the following year, 1984, he gained an LDS from the Royal College of Surgeons London. As well as the UK, he has worked in Australia (Private practice and as the SDO in a Qld State Hospital), Germany (for the British Army) and Honduras (for the Charity Mercy Ships).
From 1997 until 2002 he was the practice owner and principle in a prominent Private West London Endodontic (Root Canal ) and Cosmetic Restorative Referral Practice. From 2003 until 2009 he worked for the MOD in the Defence Dental Services as the Senior Dental Officer out of Carver Barracks Wimbish , Bassingbourne Barracks and Waterbeach Barracks.
In 2015 Daryl moved himself and family to Norfolk and started work at the University of East Anglia Dental Department, joining Smiles Better in 2017.
Clinically he enjoys Restorative and Aesthetic dentistry and has a special interest in Endodontics and is a member of the British Endodontic Society. This interest stems from his personal experience of a root canal treatment some years ago, and therefore empathises directly with patients’ concerns about this procedure, in particular pain control for which he always takes great care to achieve.
He is married with 3 sons and in his spare time enjoys, Yoga, Hiking, skiing and motorcycling.
Dr Nami Farkhondeh
Dentist with a Special Interest in Dental Implants

After
completing his dental degree at the Royal London Hospital and a year of
vocational training, Nami held a number of positions as Senior House Officer
and Staff Grade in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in some of the most
prestigious hospitals in England. This is where he learnt his basic and
advanced surgical skills. During this time he also gained his Membership of the
Faculty of Dental Surgeons.
He
then undertook his Masters of Science training programme at Guy's, King's and
St Thomas' Hospital where he learnt all aspects of Periodontology. He has also
completed the Advanced Diploma in Implant Dentistry course at the Royal College
of Surgeons England.
Nami
is also trained in dental sedation. He is affiliated with a number of societies
including the British Society of Periodontology, Association of Dental
Implantology and the Society for Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry.
Currently
Nami divides his working time between working in private practice and teaching
postgraduate dental students on the MSc programmes in both Periodontology and
Implant dentistry.
In his spare time Nami enjoys travelling, reading and playing the guitar.

Dr Ashraf Ameen
Dentist

Ashraf qualified in 1990 with a Batchelor of Dentistry degree at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa. He went straight into private practice until 1998 when he came to the UK. The mixed NHS practice was a challenge but the town of Hastings was really lovely. Ashraf then worked in South Africa for a short period again and later in the Australian Outback as the senior dentist until his return to the UK. Ashraf has been fortunate to engage in all different fields of dentistry but enjoys the restorative aspect the most - it is always good to see people leave with a smile.
In all the years Ashraf has practiced, he continuously strives to update his knowledge constantly deepening his understanding and enjoyment in offering dental services.
Caroline Holland
Dental Hygienist/Therapist

Caroline started with us in Autumn 2008 and is working with us on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.Caroline trained and qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist at Sheffield University and is a member of The British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT).Caroline continues to broaden and update her knowledge and skills with post graduate courses in her field to aid her and her patients in the practice. Caroline also provides an in-surgery and home whitening service at the practice.
Jane Chisholm - Alspach
Dental Hygienist

Jane qualified at the Royal Dental Hospital in London and has since worked in teaching hospitals (the Eastman Dental Institute, London and Addenbrookes, Cambridge) as well as general practice including Harley Street and, at the time, the country's only private children's practice.
Jane is an active member and past Chairman of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (B.S.D.H.T.) which promotes and organises post graduate education. She enjoys working in family practice and is recognised for her ability to care for nervous patients.
Annabel Brown
Dental Nurse & Implant Coordinator

Annabel qualified as a dental nurse in 2015 and is one of our full time members of staff. She currently enjoys working alongside Nami Farkhondeh, our implant dentist at Smiles Better. As well as this she is currently undertaking the NEBDN Certificate In Dental Implant Nursing and will be the lead nurse and implant co-ordinator assisting Nami Farkhondeh for all stages of implant surgery.
Amy Mitchell

Amy is one of our full time team members, working both in surgery and on reception. Amy has joined us at the practice to expand her knowledge of dentistry and to further her professional career. She is keen to explore implant nursing and also hopes to learn more about administration and management at a practice level.
Emma Kinslow

Emma has been dental nursing since 2008, and joined the team late 2017. Emma divides her time at the practice between nursing, assisting on reception, as well as co-ordinating our local periodontal specialist Denise McPartlin's patient care.
Emma also will be assisting in implant placement procedures alongside Annabel Brown. Emma is instrumental in helping trainee's and new team members integrate into the Practice. In her spare time Emma is a keen traveller, enjoys fitness, food and animals.
Melissa Cummings
Dental Nurse

Melissa qualified as a Dental Nurse in 1999. Over the last 19 years she has had many varied roles in General Practice, from Head Nurse to Manager.
Melissa currently works two days a week at Smiles Better Dental & Implant Clinic, and has been with us since January 2018.
Her main focus is her 15 month old, and she is shortly going on maternity leave to prepare for baby number 2 due in October 2018.
Hannah Youngs
Practice Manager & Dental Nurse
National Diploma in Dental Nursing NEBDN 2012

Hannah joined the practice in September 2014 as a qualified dental nurse, holding the National Diploma in Dental Nursing. In this time she has been promoted to Senior Dental Nurse, and more recently, Practice Manager. Hannah very much enjoys all aspects of dentistry, and has taken courses in Impression taking, Fluoride Application, Suture Removal and has also recently qualified in Dental Radiography. Hannah also occasionally assists with all implant stages as well as ‘teeth in a day’. Hannah now focusses her time on her administration duties required for the day to day management of the practice.
Viktorija Petkeviciene
Receptionist
Viktorija started her career in dentistry in 2012, and joined Smiles Better Dental & Implant Clinic in May 2017, working part time covering all reception duties. Viktorija also studied Clinical and Medical Administration via the Open Study College in 2012. Viktorija loves to learn new things, and is instrumental in developing the Patient Journey in the practice and working with the team to continually improve service.
